Michael Knisely was born in Brownsville, Texas, and was raised in Austin, Texas. He graduated magna cum laude from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas in 1999, where he received a B.A. with Honors, double majoring in History and Communications. At Southwestern, Michael was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and several other scholastic societies. He then attended the University of Texas School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2002.

After law school, Mr. Knisely served as a judicial clerk to both the Honorable Reynaldo G. Garza of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (2002-2003) and the Honorable Felix Recio, of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas (2003-2004). Following his judicial clerkships, Michael joined Arnold & Placek, P.C. His practice at Arnold & Placek, P.C. focuses primarily on
insurance, commercial and appellate litigation, with an emphasis on insurance bad faith, coverage litigation, and workers' compensation issues. Mr. Knisely also has significant experience representing parties in real estate disputes and construction matters.

Michael is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Appellate Section), the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association (Austin Chapter), the Williamson County Bar Association, and the Austin Bar Association (Civil Appellate Law Section). He is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
